Boost Mobile will be upping the prices on some of its plans from May 5. In good news for some customers, prices are only increasing on Boost's 7-day expiry plan and its cheapest 28-day expiry plan.

The rest of Boost Mobile's 28-day expiry customers will benefit from added data at no extra cost.

Here's an overview of Boost Mobile's mobile plan lineup, including what's changing:

Boost Mobile plan changes 2026
Current Price Expiry Current data New Price New data Change
$13 SIM 7 days 5GB $14 SIM 6GB $1+ 1GB increase
$26 SIM 28 days 7GB $28 SIM 8GB $2 + 1GB increase
$39 SIM 28 days 25GB - 30GB 5GB increase
$49 SIM 28 days 35GB - 45GB 10GB increase
$59 SIM 28 days 45GB - 55GB 10GB increase

6 months
$180 SIM 100GB New Plan
$300 SIM 365 days 240GB - - No change
$365 SIM 365 days 365GB - - No change

Boost is also introducing a new six-month long expiry option with 100GB for $180 per recharge. It's not clear at this stage whether that will be 180-day or 185-day expiry as there's no standardisation between telcos.

Boost Mobile is the only Telstra MVNO that uses the full Telstra network. While the current claim of covering 99.7% of Australians is disputed, its ahead of the 98.8% claim used for the other Telstra network providers on the "Telstra wholesale network". This puts Boost coverage just ahead of other Telstra sub-brands on coverage.

Here's a look at Boost Mobile's current 28-day expiry prepaid plans against Telstra's own:

Boost's price increase follows a similar move by parent company Telstra. Telstra's Upfront and prepaid plan pricing increased on most plans by $4 per month.

Boost Mobile is a real contender for a cheaper alternative. Following these price rise, a Telstra customer paying $44 per month for 20GB of data could switch to Boost Mobile for the same price as their original plan ($39) and get 30GB of data per recharge. You'd save $65 over the calendar year for essentially the same service.

Belong, another Telstra sub-brand also increased its plans by $4 per month. Optus and Vodafone have also each recently announced price increases taking effect in May.

While other Telstra MVNOs haven't announced any price increases yet, there's a chance they could follow.

Boost still tends to be more expensive then other Telstra providers. Here's a look at the cheapest mobile plans on the Telstra network with at least 20GB of data:
