How WhistleOut Works

It's worth noting, however, that the OVO Mobile plans, while great value, don't offer the best data for dollar value in any data category except for 25GB. There are still better prepaid and postpaid SIM-only deals to be had from the likes of TeleChoice, Jeenee Mobile, Exetel and in some cases even Optus and Vodafone. Use our mobile plan comparison tool to compare all plans.

The big data increase from OVO Mobile is just the latest in a series of massive data increases we've seen from a range of providers over the past few months including from Telstra prepaid, amaysim, Optus prepaid and Boost Mobile.

"It's times like this when it's very easy to see why prepaid mobile phone plans are the smart option in this country," said OVO founder and CEO Matt Jones. "Particularly when the provider regularly delivers no-cost data package increases."

We note that having a prepaid or no contract SIM only plan also makes it easy to switch providers when a better deal comes along, as in this market they often do.

OVO Mobile plans run on the Optus 4G network and come with data-free streaming of the OVOPlay sports service which features gymnastics, waterpolo, sailing, motorsports and esports.

OVO Mobile plans also come with a free one device subscription to FamilyZone cyber safety software valued at $59.40. FamilyZone helps you manage your child's screen time, social media time and screens inappropriate content online.
