Another Telstra provider has increased mobile plan prices

Plans from $33 and up have 5G connectivity, but most plans have their speeds capped to 100Mbps. The one exception is the top-end 150GB plan, which has a faster 250Mbps speed cap.

In an email sent to customers, Tangerine effectively blamed Telstra for the price rise. 

"Our network provider recently bumped up [its] prices, and we're also feeling the impact of business costs that keep rising," said Tangerine in the email. "This has been a difficult decision, but it's crucial for us to keep providing you with top-notch service, so we have to make a few adjustments along the way."

Given Tangerine is powered by the Telstra network, it wouldn't be surprising to see other Telstra-powered providers increase prices sooner or later. Telstra, Belong, and Boost Mobile all increased their prices in July, while Everyday Mobile (the telco formally known as Woolworths Mobile) ditched some of its cheaper postpaid plans as part of its rebrand.
