The Vodafone Pocket WiFi is essentially a small, dedicated WiFi hotspot device capable of supporting up to 5 devices with wireless internet simultaneously. The Pocket WiFi Pro is a pleasantly compact device. In fact, when not streaming broadband we found that we often forgot which pocket it was in, even when it was jammed in with other items such a smartphone or wallet.
We know this one’s a little late, but we thought that while we eagerly await Samsung’s Galaxy S III to show up on our doorstep and with the Galaxy Note 2 supposedly around the corner we should at least finally do a Samsung Galaxy Note review. The phone/tablet, or “phablet”, hybrid has sparked polarising opinions amongst smartphone users regarding both its size and the viability of its capacitive stylus.
The HTC One X is HTC’s new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) flagship device. Not only that, but the One X was the world’s first widely-released quad-core smartphone. As such it represents the next generation of the smartphone market and is an exciting indicator of things to come. For the meantime we got our hands on one to find out if it’s all that it’s cracked up to be and if the One X has a chance of taking some of the Android game back off of Samsung and delivering it to the waiting hands of HTC.
The Lumia 800 is the head-runner for Nokia’s new Windows Phone (WP) focus. Boasting the same stylish design as the Nokia N9, the Lumia 800 also comes running Windows Phone Mango, the first major update of the WP operating system (OS). We were certainly excited at the prospect of getting our hands on one to see if Nokia has what it takes to get back in the game with its new handset direction and overall we’d have to say that we weren’t disappointed.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has the honour of being the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) device available on the market. As a collaboration between Google and Samsung, the Galaxy Nexus both looks and functions a bit differently than other Samsung-manufactured smartphones we've seen in the past. We took it for a spin to check out its new operating system (OS), as well as wether or not the Galaxy Nexus is worthy of the Android flagship throne.
The HTC Rhyme is a mid-range Android 2.3 Gingerbread device with which HTC has taken a slightly different approach when it comes to aesthetics and accessories. The HTC Rhyme also comes standard with its own unique charging dock, which allows the phone to operate as a bedside clock with integrated web, weather and notifications. We grabbed a hold of one and took it for a spin to see how the Rhyme compared to other devices in the same field in our HTC Rhyme review.
The HTC Sensation XL is definitely at the larger end of the current smartphone spectrum, weighing in with a large 4.7 inch display. Being a variant of the HTC Sensation, it’s also one of HTC’s highest-end phones. So can this 4.7 inch beast compete in the big leagues? We took it for a spin to find out just exactly that for our HTC Sensation XL review.
The HTC Sensation XE is one of HTC’s current leading devices, offering a similar yet enhanced experience than the original HTC Sensation. Some of the differences between the two devices are obvious due to the very nature of the XE, such as Beats Audio integration or its faster processor, and some are less obvious, even unexpected.
The iPhone 4S, as part of the iconic iPhone line, is obviously doing very well for itself in the market. However, directly after its release there was a lot of discontentment demonstrated throughout the online community. While the negative reactions were initially more abundant that one might expect for an Apple product, things seem to be quieting down a bit now as people come to terms with the fact that there isn’t going to be any iPhone 5 this time around.
The Nokia N9 is certainly an interesting device. Not only was it was Nokia’s first and only foray with the Meego operating system (OS), but also ended up being the physical template upon which the Nokia Lumia 800 – Nokia’s first Windows Phone handset – was based. The result is a definitely unique user experience that combines a new OS with a singular approach to manufacturing style.
